DIY: Striped Slip-ons

Here are some classic shoes with a twist: neon stripes! You’ll need a pair of of slip-ons, a paint brush, tape and neon fabric paint. Start by striping your shoes with tape. and making sure that there aren’t any holes or gaps between the tape and the shoe. Begin painting the gaps and feel free to go over the tape. Allow the shoes to dry and then remove the tape.

Youtube is a whole new world for us Generation Y babies, because you can basically find anything you want. I can recall a few years back subscribing to a young girl name Michelle Phan. Her youtube channel was just starting and her concept was just to help girls “How to” and “DIY” make-up tutorials. Personally I’m not the type of girl that loves to wear make-up, yet I can’t deny that sometimes I like to glam it up a bit. Therefore, I would go unto youtube and look up RICEBUNNY for some help. I have to admit Michelle is an amazing person with an amazing talent. Now she is well known around the world, becoming an inspiration for many of us. Her website MichellePhan.com is a go to place for anything glam. I’m happy to know that this new iGeneration has helped her become the person she is now 🙂

Today’s inspiration comes from the king of accessories: Steve Madden. Every gal should have at least a pair of Steve Madden shoes, purse or an accessory. Walking into a Steve Madden store is like walking into shoe heaven. I mean who else would name his shoes from Summmer, Kuddos, Veranda, and Klassy? With a pair of Steve Madden you can dress it down with anything. Heels, boots sandals, and flats are all the choices and more you can pick from. Personally, I love the sandals. But, the heels are to die for. So go ahead and get a pair for a date out with a love one or just a casual pair out with the girls. 🙂 There’s so much you can do with Steve Madden just don’t go crazy 😛

California Dreaming: I know sometimes we get criticized for wearing shorts and UGG boots on a cold/hot day here in Southern California. But sometimes the style looks very chic and comfortable, so we can not resist it. Right now I am happy that summer is around the corner and I am obsess with white lose shirts, nude shorts,  flats, sunnies, and scarfs. Yes, I know scarfs are for those cold days but I am saying that a scarf is a great accessory to change up an outfit in an instant. Well [sometimes] it gets a little chilly at night 🙂 How would you pair up a scarf?

L.A. Bound: The W Hotel Hollywood

Last year for my 24th Birthday I celebrated it at The W Hotel in Hollywood, California. Right in the heart of Hollywood, The W Hotel can offer more than just a night to stay. Up above on the top floor you can dance the night away at club Drais, or use the patios for tanning by the pool and sight seeing. Lastly, on the first floor you can enjoy an amazing french cuisine dinner at Delphines or just socialize at their Bars. And since it’s in the middle of Hollywood, you are walking distance from other amazing places to enjoy yourself and to have fun.

Back in 2007 when I was just a young 19 year old I was attending Santa Monica College and it was a great experience I would forever cherish. I met so many people from all over the world, made new friends with different interest and point of views of life. Nevertheless, I was into the whole “hipster”, Nylon reading,  Cinespace clubbing, Yard Sale going kind of life. And I was introduce into the world of Mark Hunter A.K.A The Cobrasnake. Mark, a SMC drop-out, is now a well-known photographer who works for RVCA, Nylon, Urban Outfitter, and many more. His website has grown so much with a new addition of a COBRASHOP and his party photos are a must see from fashion shows, to concerts. Now that five years have gone by, I still admire Mark for his dedication in what he loves to do.

Finding that perfect magazine is sometimes hard to do, if you really think about it. I mean wouldn’t you want to read a magazine that is interesting, and that its content can apply to your personal taste, such as in: Music, Fashion, and Beauty? I’m a fan of all fashion magazine you can name from Elle to Vanity Fair and everything in between. Yet, high fashion is sometimes a little too far for me to reach and (wear in a daily basis). Luckily, I was able to find a magazine that is very fashion forward, hip, interesting and just straight to the point… FUN to read. I started reading Nylon Magazine since 2008 and till today I continue to be a big fan and I can never put it down. What’s your favorite magazine to read?

Dani Artaud is a local South Bayan… from Redondo Beach. I’ve always been a fan of hers since her DaniCore days, and as a member of the band Millionaires. Yet, when she left the band she joined vocals with Asia Whiteacre and created a new band called, Mr. Downstairs.
